The journey began with the establishment of Gujarat’s first private aviation enterprise, laying the foundation for organized aviation training, aircraft operations, and maintenance in the region.
Driven by the vision of Dr. Nagesh Bhandari, Western India Institute of Aeronautics (WIIA) was established to create highly skilled Aircraft Maintenance Engineers and aviation professionals aligned with global standards.
We bought Sukhoi to campus, enabling real fighter aircraft exposure and advancing aviation training with hands-on learning and industry-focused expertise.
We introduced BSc with AME, expanding academic pathways and integrating aviation engineering education with industry-oriented training.
We inducted Boeing aircraft, strengthening aviation training with real aircraft exposure and advancing hands-on learning aligned with industry standards.
We introduced BBA Aviation with Indus University, expanding management education in aviation and equipping students with industry-relevant business and operational expertise.
We introduced the B.Tech program, strengthening technical education and equipping students with advanced engineering knowledge and industry-relevant skills.
With 800+ alumni across 50+ aviation organizations and a strong PPP legacy, WIIA is now poised to develop India’s first women-led, cyber-secure MRO facilities, contributing to India’s vision of becoming a global aviation and MRO hub.
